Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Fort Wayne, Indiana seeks an experienced Specialty Engineering Manager to lead a 20–25 person engineering team delivering resilient space-based systems for weather sensing and defense missions.

As a hands-on working manager, you will guide radiation modeling, space-environment analyses, and component engineering across the product lifecycle, with a sign-on bonus of up to $50K for this level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

• Lead, coach, and develop 20-25 engineering professionals; set clear priorities, performance expectations, and growth plans.
• Serve as a working manager, providing technical direction for radiation modeling and space-environment analyses.
• Guide components engineering, materials selection, failure analysis, logistics, and planning across the product lifecycle.
• Lead complex trade studies and root-cause investigations; convert mission constraints into executable engineering plans.
• Improve specialty engineering standards and tools and communicate technical direction across engineering and program teams.
• Bid work scope and ensure we are meeting objectives across programs.
