Job summary

Job Description:

L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems is seeking a Software Quality Engineer for our Fort Wayne, IN location. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of company software and hardware products in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions:

• Participate in the complete life cycle of the software and hardware, from requirements, design, development, implementation, testing, verification, and support of algorithms, controls, and subsystems for complex aerospace applications.
• Manage complex projects or processes with general oversight.
• Make moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes.
• Contribute to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
• Ability to support program travel up to 25%
• Ability to obtain DoD clearance (Secret or higher)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
• Experience with engineering drawing review and interpretation
• Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) Analysis

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Background in developing and maintaining satellite payloads.
• Knowledge in space domain and applications.
• Fundamental knowledge of computer architecture and networks.
• Experience with SysML/UML, Python, Agile, and DevSecOps.
• Experience with Jira, Bitbucket, Git, Jenkins, and Confluence.
• Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems and multi-threaded applications.
• Excellent ability to analyze problems and identify the root cause of problems quickly.
• Experience leading teams.
• Familiarity with AS9100D including experience performing process audits
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance.
