Manager, Systems Engineering and Product Architecture

Daikin Applied is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Systems Engineering & Product Architecture to lead a cross-functional team focused on designing, developing, and integrating cutting-edge products. This role requires a deep understanding of system engineering principles, product architecture, and cross-functional leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions that align with business objectives. What You Will Do
  • Lead and manage a team of systems engineers and product architects, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Define system-level architecture, requirements, and specifications to meet business and customer needs
  • Ensure end-to-end system integration and performance optimization across hardware and software
  • Collaborate with product management to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Drive system design reviews, technical assessments, and risk evaluations
  • Maintain alignment between system architecture and product roadmap to ensure scalability and future-proofing
  • Implement best practices in system engineering, model-based design, and architectural frameworks
  • Work cross-functionally with software, hardware, and quality teams to ensure timely and successful product development
  • Provide mentorship and professional growth opportunities for team members
  • Oversee documentation, standards compliance, and technical reporting

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, product architecture, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience in a technical environment
  • Strong knowledge of system design, integration, and lifecycle management
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
  • Proficiency in system modeling, simulation, and requirements management tools
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and cross-functional team coordination
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in industries such as HVAC, aerospace, automotive, appliances, etc.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards relevant to system design
  • Certification in systems engineering (INCOSE CSEP, ESEP) or related fields desirable

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $115,300 - $144,300 (plus 15% bonus) in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
