Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Warehouse Team Lead in Etna, Ohio to lead daily warehouse operations and uphold safety and efficiency in a fast-paced setting. You will supervise picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift use and coach team members toward continuous improvement and KPI targets.

Requirements include a high school diploma and forklift experience; strong leadership and communication are essential. Weekly pay, benefits, and career advancement opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• 1+ year prior team lead experience preferred.
• 1+ year Microsoft Office experience preferred.
• 1+ year prior warehouse experience preferred.
• RF scanner experience preferred.
• Valid forklift operator's license preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement for operational efficiency.
• Perform warehouse functions: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize daily work duties to ensure optimal shift operations.
• Inspire team members to improve KPI performance using appropriate leadership styles.
• Provide orientation and necessary tools for staff to perform jobs.
• Promote health and safety practices within the warehouse.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose actions to enhance operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• One (1) year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred

• One (1) year or more previous experience as Team Lead preferred

• One (1) year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred

• One (1) year or more previous warehouse experience preferred

• Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner advanced required

• Valid forklift operator's license certified

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Effective leadership skills

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.

• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.

• Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.

• Inspire and guide team members towards improved Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.

• Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.

• Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.

• Deal with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).

• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
