LA28 seeks an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and coordination for Olympic venues. You will oversee internal and external engineers, ensuring designs meet IOC and local standards, while coordinating with architects and other engineers to deliver robust structures for Games venues.
The role requires a bachelor’s in structural engineering (PE a plus) and experience managing complex infrastructure projects, with on-site responsibilities in Downtown Los Angeles.

The VNI (Venue Infrastructure) team plays a critical role in delivering competition and non-competition venues that are functional, innovative, and fully accessible for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As part of the larger Games Planning & Delivery group, the VNI team ensures that all venues are designed and developed with the highest standards for functionality, sustainability, and inclusion.
The VNI Engineering team is responsible for the coordination, planning, design, and construction oversight of all Olympic and Paralympic venues. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Structural Engineering this role will oversee the associated engineering works for the Olympic and Paralympic venues, including management of external engineering resources and internal engineering teams, ensuring each venue meets long-term community, compliance, and long-term use objectives.
This role will require extensive knowledge of the development of technical plans and designs of structural engineering improvements and modifications. To support venue development efforts, this role is required to coordinate with multiple internal functional areas to ensure feedback is captured and designs meet industry codes and standards, IOC requirements, and cost and schedule targets. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing capital works, leading multidisciplinary consultant teams, and working in complex stakeholder environments. A background in construction or infrastructure project management is essential.

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $140,000.00. The pay scaleprovidedis the range that LA28reasonably expectsto pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensationremainssubject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
