This position requires sound comprehensive knowledge of leadership, project management, drafting techniques, engineering drawing, and a thorough knowledge of industry standards and compliance codes. This role is responsible for developing designs for complete and complex multi branded corporate stores, department stores, free standing stores and special design projects requested by senior management.

Overall encouraging new and effective design solutions adapting existing store design brand guidelines to create high touch and consumer engaging environments within the Americas. This person must have the ability to lead a team of designers corporately, balancing work plans and budgets, management of timelines and milestones, and building a culture of accountability for themselves and the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops designs for complete and complex multi branded corporate stores, brand structures, and special design projects.
  • Prioritizes and plans own work as well as manages workload and projects for their team.
  • A strategic thinker and strong leader who understands how to execute projects and can lead design processes: ideation, concept development, design development, fabrication/production and installation.
  • When applicable, design and planning of Airport Duty Free Environments and competitive spaces based on the recommendation of TR retailers and TR Senior Management.
  • Establish standards and consistency for all Travel Retailing Americas, Corporate Stores, FSS and department stores.
  • Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards, while proposing areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
  • Request renderings, samples and any other concept material when needed.
  • Assure that drawings and designs are in accordance with company/branded production and design standards, as well as airport compliant.
  • Ensures Brand's image is consistent and properly expressed and maintained within guidelines set by New York Office in order to achieve a cumulative and synergistic effect in terms of architecture, detailing merchandise layouts.
  • Provides designs, technical drawings and specifications to market and chosen shopfitter for every new installation.
  • Participates in site surveys, furniture inspection, store walk-throughs and store openings.
  • Understands various forms of customer communication and engagement from traditional to digital. In addition, evaluates and recommends new procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to keep your cool and still be creative in high-pressure situations.
  • Very strong written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience preferred in corporate or consulting retail design
  • BS or BA in Architecture, Interior Design or Industrial Design
  • Excellent organizational skills, quality execution, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong self-starter with good project management and team leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate ideas and concepts clearly and accurately to cross functional partners.
  • Skills: Technical drawings, 3D renderings, project management, strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, detail oriented, strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Useful Software Skills: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Vectorworks, Rhino.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Pay Range: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $139,600.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
