Universal Health Services, Inc. Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System is seeking a Senior De-Escalation Specialist and Staff Development Manager to lead the de-escalation team and mentor clinicians in crisis intervention.

The role requires supervising CPI instructors, ensuring proper techniques are used, and providing coaching within the therapeutic milieu. You will guide interventions and debrief with staff after crises to improve care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years in a behavioral health care facility with crisis intervention experience.
• Verbal De-Escalation Training and Milieu Management Training required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the de-escalation specialist team and provide supervision.
• Mentor clinical staff as part of the staff development program.
• Oversee CPI instructors to ensure competent instruction and adherence to techniques.
• Assess crisis situations and determine appropriate intervention levels.

SBHS is looking for an experienced Senior De-Escalation Specialist/Staff Development Manager to join our dynamic team. The senior de-escalation specialistwill oversee the de-escalation specialist team,providesupervisionandassistthe specialists in total consumer care through implementation ofappropriate therapeuticapproaches within the therapeutic milieu.The de-escalation specialist will provide directtherapeutic care to all consumers throughout the lifespan who are inpsychiatriccrisis to intervene and stabilize behaviors.Thesenior de-escalation specialist will also oversee CPI instructors atour facility toassurethey are applying competent education on the skills.Thisroleis responsible formentoring and coaching clinical staff as part of the mentoring program. The senior de-escalation specialist is to report to and lead behavioral interventions with consumers in crisis, assess crisis situations anddeterminestheappropriate levelof interventionrequired, ensureappropriateCPItechniques are being used, and debrief with staff after interventions.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, bachelor's preferred. A minimum of two (2) years experience in a behavioral health care facility, with direct experience in crisis intervention and mentoring skills REQUIRED. 3-5 years experience preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Verbal De-Escalation Training and Milieu Management Training REQUIRED.
