Manager - Software License Compliance US Based

With the continuous business growth and expansion of Connor and its clients, we are looking for a Manager to help us further build our capabilities and manage global client projects. The Manager positions are critical to adding value for our clients. The Manager, with the support of Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners, advises our clients on license compliance initiatives and execution of audits. This role involves various compliance-related projects, including audit execution, data analytics, process improvement, and targeting analysis. We rely heavily on our Managers and expect a high degree of professionalism as we carry out the highest quality of professional service our clients require and expect. The Manager is responsible for performing, supervising, and reviewing the work of each client engagement; and for being the liaison between our clients and their customers/licensees. We trust our Managers to always perform at a high level of quality and professionalism.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and perform all facets of the audits for existing clients: resource planning, audit planning, audit execution, audit team management, deliverables review, etc.
  2. Perform extensive Excel analysis as part of audit execution, client internal initiatives, and other services.
  3. Manage audit KPIs including deadlines and budgets.
  4. Interact with cross-functional teams at clients/licensees and manage multiple projects across multiple clients simultaneously.
  5. Prepare and review all client deliverables: reports, calculations, etc.
  6. Demonstrate solid understanding of client businesses, technologies, and risks. Maintain technical and practical knowledge about clients and industry; bring knowledge to the execution and oversight of audits.
  7. Supervise, coach, and mentor all levels of staff: conduct performance reviews, contribute to performance feedback and training, develop and communicate workplace culture and code of conduct.
  8. Recruit, develop, and mentor a talented team of professionals, to help bring growth to the business.
  9. Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with clients and key industry contacts to generate revenue from existing clients and expand offerings to new clients.
  10. Identify opportunities for new services, methodologies, or work processes for teams and clients.
  11. Participate in sales pursuits for royalty and license compliance initiatives.
  12. Assist in development and implementation of operational policies to support internal infrastructure growth.
Requirements:
Experience, Skills, and Characteristics
  1. BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems Administration, Engineering, or related field; CPA, CIA, CISA certification preferred.
  2. 6+ years in Professional Services or large IT organizations.
  3. Third-party audit experience, including contractual review, software licensing reviews, and/or contract compliance experience (royalty and licensing auditing).
  4. Experience as a member of a compliance team from one of the Big 4 firms is a plus but not required.
  5. Strong references from existing employer/clients.
  6. Proficient understanding of technology and software license contracts.
  7. Understanding of business processes, internal control risk management, IT controls, and related standards.
  8. Ability to identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks, management processes, internal controls, and opportunities for internal control improvement.
  9. Experience with technology-based tools or methodologies to review, design, and implement products and services.
  10. Strong background in auditing techniques and/or computer control environments.
  11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for various audiences.
  12. Proven ability to influence and resolve issues with senior leaders and major customers; negotiation skills are desirable.
  13. Detail-oriented, hardworking, and capable of motivating and managing engagement teams.
  14. Self-driven, highly motivated, and able to work independently and in teams.
  15. Ability to build strong relationships and trust with clients and internal teams.
  16. Flexibility to adapt to different licensee conditions and cultures while executing audits globally.
  17. Strategic thinker with sound business judgment.
  18. Professional and personable demeanor.
  19. Willingness to travel 25%-35% domestically and internationally.
  20. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  21. For positions in specific countries, fluency in required languages.
Related Technical Experiences:
  • Windows or UNIX/Linux administration background including proficiency with Active Directory.
  • Data analysis applications such as ACL, SQL, or Access.
  • Windows Server Desktop, Unix/Linux, SAM (SMS, Altiris, etc.), VB Script, Shell Script, VBA/Macros, PERL, VMware, ISO 19770-1, and ITIL SAM Standards.
