Job summary

RevolutionParts in Tempe, AZ is seeking a seasoned Manager of Software Engineering to lead and mentor an established engineering team in a high-growth SaaS environment. The role demands ruthlessly prioritizing work, strategic roadmap ownership, and ensuring architectural integrity across modules.

You will guide delivery, foster an agile culture, and collaborate with product, UX, and backend peers to build scalable features for our multi-tenant platform.

Qualifications

• You’ve done this before—you have experience in a high-growth startup environment with constant change as your companion; 12+ years of total experience working on an Engineering team… with 5 of those years managing a team using an Agile development process
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar
• Experience in a multi-tenant SaaS product development environment
• Proven experience sourcing, hiring, and growing a software development team
• Experience with frontend technologies (e.g. React, Angular) is a plus, and experience working with User Experience and Product teams to build great user interfaces
• Smart, quick learner, proactive, comfortable working with unknowns and dynamically evolving requirements
• Proven ability to hire, mentor, coach, and lead a team to success
• Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results
• Expertise in object‑oriented design and implementation
• Strong communication skills
• Experience leading and working with remote & Offshore teams

Responsibilities

• Recruit and mentor: build a high-performing team by recruiting top talent and providing coaching and growth opportunities
• Cultivate culture: foster an agile, small-team environment that prioritizes speed of delivery and high-quality outcomes
• Roadmap ownership: partner with Product Managers to own and manage a rapidly evolving roadmap aligned with company goals
• Delivery excellence: drive the execution and delivery of product features across functions to remove blockers
• Strategic partnership: act as a trusted partner for senior management to drive alignment and implement decisions across the team
• Technical backstop: provide high-level design guidance with Tech Leads to ensure architectural integrity
• Design authority: own sign-off on major technical designs for scalability, security, and maintainability
• Engineering productivity: lead initiatives to improve engineering effectiveness and processes as the team scales

Responsibilities

Product Execution & Strategy

• Strategic Partnership: Act as a trusted partner for senior management to determine the best solutions, drive alignment, and implement decisions across your team.

Technical Governance & Effectiveness

• Technical Backstop: Act as a primary backstop for your Tech Leads. Provide high‑level guidance and collaborate deeply on the creation of High‑Level Designs (HLD) to ensure architectural integrity.


• Design Authority: Own the ultimate sign‑off on major technical designs, ensuring they meet our standards for scalability, security, and maintainability.


• Engineering Productivity: Lead initiatives to improve overall engineering effectiveness and iteratively refine development processes and best practices as the team scales.

Requirements

• The salary range listed reflects the base pay only. In addition, this role includes a variable bonus structure based on performance metrics between 10%-15% yearly.

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $157,000 – $187,000 per year.
