Raymond James is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead delivery of a critical portfolio of applications within our Operations Technology platform.

You will own delivery and support of multiple applications used by clients, advisors, and Home Office departments, including mission-critical systems foundational to the firm’s operations. This leadership role requires collaboration across business and tech teams.

Qualifications

Job Description Summary

This position follows our hybrid-friendly schedule, so you get the best of both worlds – flexibility and collaboration. In office days will be 3 per week in our St Petersburg, FL Corporate Office. This role is not eligible for Work Visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.

Raymond James is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to spearhead delivery of a critical portfolio of applications within our Operations Technology platform. As a Manager of the Software Engineering team, you'll own the delivery/support of multiple applications that clients, advisors, and Home Office departments depend on every day, including mission critical systems that are foundational to the firm’s operations. This position is responsible for maintenance and evolution of the firm’s Annual Fees, Cash Management (ACH, Periodic Payments, and other functions), and Retirement Plan Services systems. This leader will partner closely with business stakeholders to shape and execute a strategic and tactical delivery roadmap.

What You’ll Bring

Two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience in management or leadership. Financial services industry experience strongly preferred. Must have management experience in leading geographically dispersed teams, coordinating development activities across organizational lines, and successfully delivering applications with medium to large complexities. Managing resource allocations and budget to ensure resources are most efficiently utilized. Experience managing technical resources to deliver software projects both vendor-purchased and in-house developed. Working with vendors for software solutions. Experience implementing scalable, distributed and highly responsive financial applications using Angular, Java, REST/Micro Services, .NET, SQL (Microsoft and Oracle), HP NonStop/COBOL, and related technologies. Possess highly effective written and oral communication; excellent organizational and project management skills, and team player that is assertive, passionate, and goal oriented. Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while guiding and training others on developing software using programming languages. Applies comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on acquiring, organizing, protecting and processing data to fulfill business objectives. Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on planning, organizing, prioritizing and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
