Job summary

Mammoth Mountain, an Alterra Resort, is seeking a Snow Cat Grooming Supervisor to lead the Slope Maintenance team at Mammoth Lakes, CA. You will oversee all grooming operations, schedule operators, manage budgets, and coordinate with Garage Facility and outside contractors.

You’ll drive the SnowSat fleet management initiative, develop training programs, and ensure safety and efficiency in a demanding mountain environment. This role requires strong leadership and a passion for winter operations.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 3-4 years on snow cat operations experience.
• 2-3 years management experience preferred.
• Commercial driver license with HAZMAT endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee grooming operations for Mammoth Mountain snow cats.
• Coordinate maintenance with Garage Facility and scheduling of operators.
• Develop and implement a training program for snow cat operators.
• Develop and implement SnowSat fleet management and reporting tools.
• Manage department budget including fuel, wages and repairs.

A little about this position:

• Reporting to the Director of Slope Maintenance, incumbent is responsible for any and all snow cat grooming on Mammoth Mountain.
• Oversees all operations of Slope Maintenance department including but not limited to equipment and employees.
• Coordinates maintenance of any and all machines with Garage Facility.
• Provides scheduling of all snow cat operators.
• Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of a rigorous training program.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of the SnowSat fleet management system, including the development and implementation of reporting tools.
• Manages construction projects, including the coordination of outside contractors.
• Must manage fuel, wages and repair cost within budgetary guidelines set by department head.
• Responsible for any or all other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• 3-4 years on snow cat operations experience.
• 2-3 years management experience preferred.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including day, swing, and grave shifts.
• Possession of a commercial driving license, including HAZMAT endorsements.

Pay: $80,213.49 - $84,825.66 per year
