Job Summary

The Manager of the CHOC Sleep Labs is responsible for ensuring quality improvement, staff development, safety, and regulatory compliance. The Manager collaborates with the Diagnostics Director to plan, develop, and implement activities within the CHOC Sleep Program across the continuum of care. Responsibilities include managing quality and accreditation requirements across all Sleep Labs, providing staff development as an educator and change agent, and administering corrective actions and performance evaluations under the Diagnostics Director’s guidance. The Manager facilitates educational initiatives, assesses competencies, and manages operational and quality metrics to ensure high standards of care and compliance with internal and external standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure quality improvement, staff development, safety, and regulatory compliance in Sleep Labs.
  • Collaborate with the Diagnostics Director on program planning and development.
  • Manage and analyze quality and accreditation requirements.
  • Provide staff education, facilitate competency assessments, and promote continuing education.
  • Manage operational and quality metrics.
  • Organize and present sleep disorder-specific training programs.
  • Potentially score sleep studies and provide direct patient care.
Pay Range

Minimum $90,563; Midpoint $120,016; Maximum $149,427

Pay is determined by knowledge, skills, experience, education, and job requirements.

Experience
  • Required: At least 5 years of direct patient care in Sleep Medicine and 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Preferred: 6 years of pediatric Sleep Lab experience.
Education
  • Required: Graduate of a 2-year accredited Sleep Technologist program with RPSGT credential, or graduate of a 2-year Respiratory Therapy program with RRT, RPSGT, or SDS credentials. Bachelor’s degree in science or equivalent experience.
Training
  • Required: Completion of validated competencies for Sleep Technologist or Respiratory Care Practitioner-Sleep.
Skills and Licensure
  • Required: Strong leadership, analytical, communication skills; California Polysomnographic Technologist License or Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
  • Preferred: Certifications like CCSH, Pediatric Sleep Certification, BLS.
Physical and Environmental Demands

Includes lifting, bending, reaching, standing, and working in various environmental conditions, with sensory requirements such as color discrimination and hearing.
