Qualifications

• Ph.D. with 2+ years of relevant industry experience, or MS with 5+ years in a technical field.
• Experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale data products and AI-enabled applications.
• Experience with semantic modeling, enterprise metadata, knowledge graphs, or similar semantic tech.
• Strong understanding of modern AI architectures including LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, and governance.
• Experience in forward-deployed engineering or solutions engineering roles with end-user collaboration.
• Experience delivering data platforms and AI-enabled data products at scale.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise products using cloud-native/open-source tech.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Snowflake, AWS, Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Partner with GCSO and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data/AI solutions.
• Lead design, development, deployment, and enhancement of Semantic Intelligence on the data platform.
• Operate via forward-deployed engineering with users, product teams, and engineers from problem to production.
• Design reusable data products and platform capabilities for enterprise data access and AI readiness.
• Provide leadership across cloud, data infra, APIs, metadata, and AI-enabled apps.
• Collaborate with security, privacy, governance, and architecture teams to ensure compliant solutions.
• Establish engineering standards for architecture, testing, deployment, observability, and production support.
• Evaluate emerging data/AI tech and map to enterprise needs (security/privacy/compliance).
• Manage priorities, delivery plans, risks, and stakeholder expectations across initiatives.
• Mentor team members and contribute reusable engineering practices across J&J Data/AI.
