Job summary

Pilot Company is seeking a results-driven RFP Sales Specialist to develop, implement, and manage the sales process for transportation fuels. You will document bid templates, drive opportunities through the process, and leverage CRM tools to boost win rates and revenue.

Responsibilities include building out pipeline, delivering process improvements, and collaborating with Supply Managers, Traders, and Marketing to price bids. Local Knoxville presence preferred with travel under 10%.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in relevant work required.
  • Working knowledge of CRM, specifically Salesforce, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, execute tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and as part of a team.
  • Travel required less than 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the implementation of process and technology enhancements to increase sales effectiveness by building out pipeline and opportunity management tools and dashboards.
  • Identify opportunities in organizational structure to help achieve company objectives.
  • Optimize sales processes through data-driven initiatives.
  • Identify market potential and growth opportunities to increase GP$.
  • Assist in development of consultative and value-based sales training.
  • Communicate daily with Supply Managers, Traders, Sales Marketers, and others to price bid opportunities.
  • Track bid statistics on win/loss, origination, expiration, margin, and notes in CRM.
  • Manage the CRM system for the RFP sales process and keep the dashboard updated.
  • Monitor inside sales for OTR and government opportunities.
  • Model behaviors that support the company’s purpose and guest/team support.
  • Ensure all activities comply with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The purpose of this job is to develop, implement, and manage the sales process of all Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) for the sale of various transportation fuels such as diesel, gasoline, ethanol, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), etc. In addition, this role will champion and leverage technology enhancements to drive sales effectiveness.

1. Create and document the sales process and bid templates for RFP’s

2. Schedule and foster sales opportunities through the sales process, working with marketers and other stakeholders. This can include kickoff meetings, status meetings, deal approval calls, post-mortem calls, etc.

3. Champion the implementation of process and technology enhancements to increase sales effectiveness by building out pipeline and opportunity management tools for sales reps, developing deal flow process automation, and creating dashboards for tracking deal and rep performance

4. Identify opportunities in organizational structure to help achieve overall company objectives.

5. Optimize sales and processes through data driven initiatives

6. Identify market potential and growth opportunities to increase GP$.

7. Assist in development of consultative and value-based sales training

8. Communicate daily with Supply Managers, Traders, Sales Marketers, and others to effectively price bid opportunities

9. Track bid statistics on win/loss, origination of opportunity, opportunity expiration, margin, customer notes, etc. utilizing Client Relationship Management (CRM) software

10. Manage the CRM system for the RFP sales process and keep the opportunity dashboard in CRM updated

11. Monitor inside sales for Over-The-Road (OTR) and government opportunities

12. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level

13. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

14. Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Able to work evenings and odd hours as needed
