Job summary

Nordson MEDICAL is seeking an experienced leader to head the regional account team in the Americas. You will drive revenue for regulated medical device components with a strong technical sales background and team coaching responsibilities.

Travel up to 75% is required; collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Marketing to grow key accounts. Base salary ranges from $120,000 to $160,000 with a 25% bonus target and comprehensive benefits including medical, Rx, vision, dental, HSA, 401k, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business. MBA a plus.
  • 10+ years medical device manufacturing experience selling to OEMs.
  • Experience in leading/developing a sales team and managing P&L and budget spending.
  • Strong understanding of the medical device industry and market dynamics.
  • Willingness to travel and work with a global team.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, develop and manage regional Account Managers in the Americas to meet goals.
  • Identify and develop key/target accounts and support regional sales strategies.
  • Coach Sales Reps and manage training and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate action plans to penetrate new markets and customers.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing on customer opportunities.
  • Support Marketing in sales tools and tactics to drive revenue.
  • Assist reps in proposals and presentations to key customers.
  • Coordinate with other sales managers to drive global growth.
  • Visit key customers and suppliers to stay updated on needs and trends.
  • Manage the team budget and ensure policy adherence.
  • Maintain high levels of customer contact and satisfaction.

Summary Of The Role

Expertise in sales of components for highly regulated medical devices, with a strong technical background and sales experience required. Recruit and coach team to maximize growth in line with company strategic objectives. Establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base as well as more deeply penetrate existing key accounts. Drive market share and develop winning strategies for targeting key accounts.

  • Hire, develop and manage team of Regional Account Managers in the Americas to help meet/exceed sales goals and profitability.
  • Responsible for helping to identify and develop key and target accounts.
  • Help support regional and customer segment specific sales strategies
  • Responsible for the performance appraisal, development, and help with training of Sales Reps.
  • Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets and new customers.
  • Work cross functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing to help with customer opportunities, resolve issues, planning, etc.
  • Work closely with Marketing to support development of sales strategies, tools and tactics to drive sales
  • Assist Sales Reps in preparation of proposals and presentations to key customers
  • Coordinate with other sales managers to support overall growth and coordinate activities with global customers
  • Visit and work with key customers, suppliers and outside parties to maintain understanding of key needs, industry, trends, etc.
  • Manage team budget
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the sales teams.
  • Ensure that all Sales Reps meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
  • Appropriately delegate authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
  • Set examples for Sales Reps in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
  • Maintain appropriate level of customer contact to ensure high level of satisfaction.
  • Interact and cooperate with company employees across all levels of organization.
  • Effectively communicate customer feedback and satisfaction.
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business. MBA a plus.
  • 10+ years medical device manufacturing experience, selling to medical device OEMs
  • Experience in leading/developing a sales team and managing P&L and budget spending.
  • Strong understanding of the medical device industry, the OEM companies and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work with a global team of professionals.
  • Experience with customer/contract negotiations.

Base Salary/Hourly Range for this position is: $120,000.00 to $160,000.00 annually, and the bonus target is 25%. Benefits including Medical, Rx, Vision, Dental, and Health Savings Account (HSA), Retirement and Security benefits including 401k and Life Insurance. In addition to Paid Time Off and paid Holidays, each employee receives 16 hours paid time each calendar year to perform volunteer services for Nordson-sponsored events. The base pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, business considerations, and local market conditions, as well as candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, and skills
