This is a hybrid role open to the following locations: Denver, Middletown, Lehigh, or Wilkes-Barre.

Position Overview

Provides leadership and direction for UGI Utilities’ Safety & Health Program. Leads a team of safety professionals to develop and support policies and procedures aligned with industry standards and OSHA regulations, and conducts safety improvement activities across the UGI service territory.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Continuously improve the UGI Safety and Health Program, including policies, processes, and training, in accordance with regulatory, industry standards, and company requirements, while fostering a positive safety culture.
  2. Lead a team of safety professionals to engage stakeholders, promote a safety culture, develop safety solutions, and provide internal customer service to ensure effective and safe operations.
  3. Partner with management to ensure safe working conditions, proactively address hazards, and promote an accident-free environment.
  4. Manage measurement and reporting of safety performance metrics, benchmarking, and peer reviews to enhance safety culture and performance.
  5. Ensure regulatory safety compliance and manage reporting to agencies such as OSHA, BLS, and others as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong safety knowledge related to the Utility Industry, including OSHA, DOT, and state regulations.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to develop trust across all organizational levels, with strategic planning to overcome objections.
  • Influence and guide others who do not directly report to this position.
  • Experience leading complex projects and multi-location initiatives; effective time and resource management skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present technical information clearly and respond to questions confidently.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a safety-related role with increasing management responsibilities preferred.
  • CSP or CIH certification is preferred.
