Community Medical Center in Missoula, MT is seeking a Manager (RN) for the Operating Room to provide daily leadership of OR operations, partnering with surgeons, anesthesia providers and nursing leaders to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality surgical care. The role emphasizes accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement within a broad range of specialties.

Applicants should hold Montana RN licensure (or Compact) and a BSN from an accredited school.

Qualifications

• Current Montana RN license or Compact RN License with Montana endorsement.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing school.
• Master’s degree in nursing or a relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for daily Operating Room operations and staff.
• Promote a culture of patient safety, quality, and service excellence.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary leaders to optimize surgical services and patient outcomes.
• Support staff development, engagement, recruitment, retention, and performance management.
• Monitor staffing, scheduling, productivity, and departmental operations.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Manage resources effectively to support operational and financial goals.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment focused on teamwork and professional growth.

Job Type: Full-time | 1.0 FTE

Up to a $15,000 Sign-On Bonus for Eligible Candidates (two-year commitment) and up to $10,000 in Relocation (with receipts)

Schedule: Exempt, Days, Monday-Friday (available for staff when needed including weekends and holidays)

As the OR Manager, you'll partner with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Our team supports a broad range of specialties, including bariatric weight loss, colorectal, general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, pediatric surgery, plastics, podiatry, robotic surgery, and urology.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current Montana RN license or Compact RN License with Montana endorsement, and possess an Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Education: Master’s degree (nursing or relevant field) preferred
• Certifications: BLS, PALS and ACLS required
• Experience: Previous Operating Room nursing experience required; Progressive leadership experience in perioperative services preferred.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical workflows, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements, excellent communication, critical thinking, and team-building skills.
