Overview

As a Manager, Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting, you will be part of a centralized global accounting team supporting IGT's operations across all business segments and geographic regions. This role is responsible for providing technical accounting guidance and supporting and leading revenue recognition activities across a diverse portfolio of products, services, software, leasing arrangements, and complex customer contracting structures.

This position serves as a key accounting resource for revenue-related transactions, including contract reviews, performance obligation assessments, SSP analyses, transaction price allocation, contract modifications, leasing considerations, and other complex commercial arrangements. The role will partner closely with Sales, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Product Management, and business stakeholders to support the review of customer arrangements and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP. This is a manager-level individual contributor role that serves as a subject matter expert for revenue recognition and technical accounting matters and is expected to independently lead complex accounting analyses and cross-functional initiatives.

In addition to revenue recognition responsibilities, this role will provide technical accounting support for other complex accounting matters, including lease accounting, disclosure requirements, new accounting standards, balance sheet analyses, SOX-related control activities, and financial reporting matters. The position requires a strong technical accounting background, deep knowledge of ASC 606, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the review and analysis of complex customer contracts, amendments, bundled transactions, and commercial arrangements to determine the appropriate accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition and leasing considerations.
  • Provide guidance on revenue recognition matters, including performance obligations, SSP analyses, transaction price allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications, and other complex revenue transactions.
  • Provide global technical accounting guidance (both U.S. GAAP and IFRS) to internal customers across all business segments and geographic regions and prepare technical accounting position papers supporting conclusions reached.
  • Serve as a key accounting advisor to Finance, Sales, Legal, Product Management, and business stakeholders by evaluating accounting impacts and communicating accounting conclusions for complex commercial arrangements.
  • Provide guidance and technical consultation to accounting and finance teams on revenue recognition and technical accounting matters.
  • Prepare and review revenue recognition documentation, accounting analyses, and technical accounting memorandums supporting accounting conclusions.
  • Monitor and review the recording of accounting transactions to ensure compliance with approved accounting conclusions, company policy, and applicable accounting standards.
  • Perform key control activities identified for matters within the team scope and support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements.
  • Support the month-end close process, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes, and related disclosure requirements.
  • Assist in the coordination of annual audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors and provide support for accounting-related inquiries.
  • Monitor new and proposed accounting standards and assess the potential impact on the company.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • 6+ years of combined public accounting and industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements and experience analyzing complex customer arrangements.
  • Experience preparing technical accounting memorandums and supporting accounting conclusions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with business stakeholders on commercial transactions and communicate accounting impacts effectively.
  • Experience with ASC 842 leasing guidance and financial reporting preferred.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
