Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Manager - Retail Services Food and Nutrition at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. This full-time day shift leadership role oversees cafe staff, cash operations, and aligns operations with safety and sanitation standards.

You will partner with the Director to develop budgets, marketing plans, vending and catering, and ensure high customer satisfaction through effective staff development and process controls.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel/Motel Management preferred.
• Progressively more responsible food service supervisory experience.
• Experience including marketing and production responsibilities preferred.
• Knowledge of Quality Improvement principles.
• Ability to direct marketing of cash operations and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with employees/customers across Maine Medical Center.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures, sanitation and HACCP.
• Knowledge of statistics (surveys, sales, transactions, average checks).
• Knowledge of basic accounting and budgeting practices.

This is supervisory work responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating the performance of the cafe staff and overseeing all cash operations. Work includes responsibility for developing marketing plans, overseeing vending and catering operations, securing the cash control process. Assists the Director with developing and monitoring the budget. Responsible for safety and sanitation of retail areas.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Knowledge of food preparation and quality/portion control. Associate degrees in Culinary Arts or Hotel/Motel Management are preferred.
• Experience: Progressively more responsible experience in food service cash or cafeteria operations which has included portion and quality control, costing and supervisory responsibilities. Experience including marketing and production responsibilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of Quality Improvement principles.
• Ability to provide creative direction to marketing of cash operations and assure customer satisfaction.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with employees/customers from all areas of Maine Medical Center.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures, sanitation and HACCP procedures.
• Knowledge of statistic gathering (surveys, sales, transactions, average checks, etc.).
• Knowledge of basic accounting and budgeting practices.

The pay range for this position is $66,123.20to $89,481.60per year.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
