Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding seeks a Respiratory Care Manager to lead our respiratory care staff, provide instruction and evaluation, and assist the Director in department management while delivering direct patient care as needed.

You will supervise, instruct, and evaluate Respiratory Care Practitioners daily, collaborating with the Director to implement clinical best practices, ensuring Joint Commission and CLIA compliance, and managing staffing, timecards, and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Respiratory Care or 5 years as Respiratory Care Practitioner in acute care; Associates acceptable with condition.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, instruct, and evaluate Respiratory Care Practitioners daily.

• Develop and implement annual competency program for staff.
• Coordinate scheduling to ensure staffing, productivity, and budgeting targets.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Respiratory Care Manager, you will lead our Respiratory Care technical staff, providing instruction and evaluation, while assisting the Director in department management. This role also includes direct patient care as needed.

Every day you will supervise, instruct, and evaluate Respiratory Care Practitioners. You'll assist the Director in overall department management and provide direct patient care. Daily contacts include subordinates, co-workers, patients, medical staff, and physicians.

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong leadership, instructional, and evaluative skills, with advanced clinical expertise in respiratory care. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for staff supervision and interdisciplinary contact are essential.

• Collaborates with the Director of Respiratory Care to incorporate protocols and implement clinical best practices.
• Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission standards and CLIA regulations for the Blood Gas Laboratory.
• Development and implementation of the annual competency program, ensuring the clinical expertise of all staff.
• Monthly and daily scheduling to assure appropriate staffing levels, while maintaining productivity and budgeting targets. Completion of timecards to assure appropriate payment for hours worked.
• Audit staff charges, charting and orders to assure compliance for all regulatory requirements.
• Assist in hiring and onboarding new staff members. Assist with staff discipline in compliance with policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors Other Respiratory Care or 5 years experience working as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in an acute care setting. Candidate may be considered with Associates Degree inlieu of Bachelors degree depending on experience. However, Bachelors degree must be obtained within 2 years of hire., upon hire and

• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and (Must be through the American Heart Association)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and (Must be through the American Heart Association)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire and (Must be through the American Heart Association)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire
