Job summary

Alcon is seeking a Digital Solutions professional, Manager, Reporting & Insights to accelerate digital capabilities across R&D. This hands-on, business-embedded role will configure and enhance tools, develop agents, improve decision making, and increase productivity.

Role is on-site in Johns Creek, GA; Fort Worth, TX or Mexico City, Mexico, with responsibilities spanning dashboards, data workflows, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience.
• Fluent reading/writing/communication in English required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in digital solutions or analytics.

Responsibilities

• Partner with R&D stakeholders to understand strategies, workflows, data and user needs.
• Identify opportunities for digital solutions based on value, feasibility and risk.
• Translate business needs into use cases, designs, requirements and roadmaps.
• Configure fit-for-purpose solutions within approved platforms and engage IT when needed.
• Act as business platform expert and product partner across IT and vendors.
• Design and develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support decisions.
• Transform complex data into actionable insights with modern analytics tools.

Alcon is seeking a Digital Solutions professional, Manager, Reporting & Insights to accelerate the evolution of digital capabilities across R&D. This hands‑on, business‑embedded role will combine expertise in project and portfolio management platforms, analytics, automation, and AI to configure and enhance business and scientific tools, develop agents, improve decision making, streamline processes, and increase organizational productivity.

This role is on‑site in our Johns Creek, GA; Fort Worth, TX or Mexico City, Mexico location and a typical day would include:

• Partner with R&D stakeholders to understand strategies, workflows, data, user needs, and operational pain points.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities for digital solutions based on business value, feasibility, risk, and reusability.
• Translate business needs into clear use cases, process designs, requirements, prototypes, and product roadmaps.
• Develop and configure fit‑for‑purpose solutions within approved business and scientific platforms and engage IT when enterprise engineering, integration, security, validation, deployment, or production support is required.
• Serve as the business solution lead throughout delivery, maintaining alignment to intended outcomes and championing adoption, value realization, and continuous improvement.
• Configure workflows, forms, fields, templates, calculations, permissions, notifications, reports, dashboards, and other platform capabilities within approved guardrails.
• Evaluate enhancement requests, troubleshoot business‑process and configuration issues, test changes, maintain documentation, and support user training and adoption.
• Act as a business platform expert and product partner, working with IT and vendors on upgrades, integrations, security, environment management, and technical issues that extend beyond business configuration.
• Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations that support strategic and operational decision making.
• Leverage modern analytics tools to transform complex data into actionable insights.

What You’ll Bring to Alcon:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience partnering with business functions to improve processes or deliver digital products, business applications, analytics, automation, or AI‑enabled solutions.
• Experience developing reports, dashboards, or business intelligence solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to discover business needs, challenge assumptions, define use cases, and translate requirements into practical solution designs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively across business and IT boundaries, with a clear understanding of when to build within the business and when to engage enterprise technical partners.
• Hands‑on experience administering or configuring project and portfolio management platforms, including workflows, forms, fields, permissions, reports, dashboards, or related business capabilities.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Tableau, QuickSight, SageMaker, or related technologies.
• Experience building or supporting Copilot agents, AI assistants, chatbots, or automation solutions.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 development capabilities and automation frameworks.
• Experience with SQL, data modeling, APIs, or low‑code development platforms.
• Experience working in regulated industries such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or life sciences.
• Experience with R&D, project portfolio management, product development, scientific, or other complex business processes.
