Job description

Role: Manager, Repairs Reports to: Sr. Manager, Repairs Scope: People Manager, M3 Years of Experience: 4+ years Location: Reno, NV Hiring Range: $77,280 - 95,000 USD Annual

Overview Repairs keep gear in the field and out of landfills - it's our mission in its most tangible form. As the Manager, you run the department's daily operation, leading a team of Sr. Supervisors across Processing, Trims, Prep, Sewing, Shipping, and Waders across two shifts, and partnering with the Repairs Sr. Manager regularly. You'll lead through your leaders: hiring them, coaching them through difficult conversations, and delivering the direct feedback that grows them. You own employee experience for the department with policies consistently applied across all shifts, and close partnership with People & Culture for employee leaves and concerns. You'll forecast labor and volume with the Sr. Manager and bring in the systems and tools that help a large team absorb change without losing a step - all in service of a customer waiting on their gear, because behind every repair is someone waiting to get their gear back out there.

What you’ll do
Leading the team

Leading the team Create an environment where everyone can learn from mistakes, voice their opinions, and feel safe asking questions. Listen actively and communicate transparently — be fully present in 1:1s and team meetings, share the "why" behind decisions, and close the loop on questions and commitments. Guide, inspire, direct, and hold team members and leaders accountable consistently with company guidelines, and recognize outstanding performance. Coach and support the Sr. Supervisor team in navigating difficult conversations - including preparation, in-the-moment support, and post-conversation follow-up. Ensure consistent, equitable application of company policy and department guidelines across all shifts and teams. Partner with People & Culture on employee relations cases, investigations, and corrective action, and on all leave requests (LOA, FMLA, ADA) handling each accurately, confidentially, and on time. Approach conflict directly and with curiosity, seeking to understand all perspectives before moving to resolution.

Running the Operation

Running the Operation Lead the Sr. Supervisors that manage the Processing, Trims, Prep, Sewing, Shipping, and Wader functions across two shifts operating Sunday to Friday. Own the department's productivity and performance metrics - delivering accurate, on-time reporting and the analysis behind it. Build knowledge about the types of garments we fix, repair processing times, and our repair methods. Develop and deliver professional PowerPoint presentations independently for the department and/or senior leadership audiences. Stay current on new systems, programs, and tools available to the business; evaluate their fit for Repairs and lead adoption, training, and change management through the leadership team.

Building Leadership Talent

Building Leadership Talent Develop and grow the leadership team through regular 1-1 check-ins, structured learning series, and meaningful coaching moments. Build leadership bench strength by identifying development opportunities, delegating stretch assignments, and preparing supervisors for the next level of responsibility. Own hiring end to end - recruiting, interviewing, and selection - and lead the training team through onboarding of new hires. Develop, maintain, and update training material and department policies and procedures. Partner with the Sr. Manager to lead the department's Voice of the Employee work - driving participation, reviewing results, and coaching the Sr. Supervisor team to share team-level findings and respond to feedback openly. Turn that feedback into a prioritized action plan with named owners and timelines, then hold leaders accountable and report progress back to the team so employees see their input drive real change.
