Job summary

Bromma, a division of Kalmar, is seeking a Manager of Refurbishment and Upgrades for the Americas based in Durham, USA. You will lead RUP opportunities, coordinate pricing, BOMs, orders, and invoicing, and travel to customer sites to maintain relationships and drive project success.

Your role requires 2–4 years in a related field, a technical degree, and bilingual English/Spanish to support the Americas region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business, Logistics or technical discipline; Associate's with 5+ years accepted.
  • Valid State Driver’s license, passport and TWIC card; ability to travel to sites.
  • 2–4 years in technical support, engineering or sales in manufacturing/logistics.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred for Americas territory.
  • Proficiency with SAP or ERP systems and CAD drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities and manage RUP proposals from inception to client presentation.
  • Research pricing in SAP and prepare BOMs; determine RUP pricing with margins.
  • Process orders in SAP; create service orders and shipments; track in Salesforce.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse/Sourcing, Engineers and Service Managers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Track project costs and prepare invoices in SAP.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships; travel 2–3 times per year to sites.

Bromma is looking for a self-motivated, energetic team player to join our organization as the Manager of Refurbishment and Upgrades for the Americas. In this role, you will be responsible for researching, quoting, selling, and managing all spreader RUP (Refurbishment and Upgrade) Projects in North and South America. This position will be integral to the success of our Americas operations, allowing you to directly assist customers in upgrading their existing equipment.

Compensation Data
  • Base Salary: Starting @ $85K (DOE)
  • Eligible for Annual Bonus
  • Eligible for annual salary review & merit-based increase
What are your key responsibilities:
  • Project Identification & Proposal Management: Work with Equipment Sales, Parts Sales, and Service teams to identify customer-specific opportunities, write RUP proposals, present them directly to customers via email, and follow up to answer questions.
  • Pricing & BOM Administration: Utilize SAP to research pricing for all parts/kits, enter Bills of Material (BOMs) directly into SAP, and determine RUP pricing based on knowledge of required Gross Margins.
  • Order Processing & Coordination: Process orders by creating Service Orders and Advance Shipments in SAP, enter projects into Salesforce, and work with the Logistics team to ensure project parts have required shipping documents for Latin America.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate directly with Warehouse/Sourcing, Product Support Engineers, and Service Managers to ensure parts are ordered, packed correctly as kits, and delivered on time, with all engineering documents completed prior to on-site service.
  • Project Tracking & Invoicing: Utilize project management tools/spreadsheets to track projects, gather all parts costs, engineering hours, and expenses, and create/send invoices for RUP service orders in SAP.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Engage daily with customers via email and phone, assume complete ownership of project requests, and travel to customer sites 2 to 3 times annually to cultivate business relationships.

What you bring to the role:
  • Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree is required (Engineering, Business, Logistics, or a technical discipline preferred), or an Associate's Degree with 5+ years of applicable work experience. Candidates must possess a Valid State Driver’s license, and have or be able to obtain a valid Passport and a TWIC card.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in a Technical Support, Engineering, or Sales position within a similar Manufacturing, Production, Warehouse, or Logistics environment. Experience or strong interest in heavy machinery, ports, transportation, and international container shipping is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Bi‑lingual fluency (English, Spanish) is highly preferred to support our Americas territory.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with SAP (or a comparable ERP system) and Google G Suite/Microsoft Office is required. Must have strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret technical mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic drawings, schematics, blueprints, and CAD drawings.
  • Project Management Skills: Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills in a fast‑paced environment, high attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Team & Customer Focus: Excellent customer service skills, excellent business acumen, and a teamwork‑oriented mindset to collaborate closely with Bromma Product Support Engineers, Field Service Engineers, and the Americas Sales Team.
