Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Radiologic Technology, or Radiation Therapy.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Licenses and certifications depend on modality:

Radiology Technologist

  • Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
  • Registered Radiology Technologist by ARRT, required.

Computed Tomography (CT)

  • Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
  • Registered CT Technologist by ARRT, required.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

  • Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
  • Registered MRI Technologist by ARRT, required.

Nuclear Medicine

  • Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
  • Either ARRT-N or NMTCB certification required.

Mammography

  • Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
  • Registered Mammography Technologist by ARRT, required.

Ultrasound

  • One of the following certifications required:
  • ARRT-VS, RVT, RVS, RCS, RCCS, or RDCS.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

  • At least two years of experience in an acute hospital setting.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Supervise and schedule daily activities.
  • Perform quality control and participate in QA programs.
  • Assist in policy development and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, including budgeting.
  • Train and evaluate staff on equipment and procedures.
  • Ensure safety and adherence to policies, maintaining budget and productivity standards.
  • Support staff development and serve as a mentor.
  • Create compassionate, personalized patient and staff experiences, modeling Memorial Hermann’s service standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
