Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead, coach, and develop project managers supporting the Sports Surgical and Shoulder Reconstruction portfolios.   • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/SharePoint/Project/Teams).
  • Ability to create and manage project and program budgets.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • PMP or PMI training is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop project managers supporting the medical device portfolios.
  • Coordinate R&D and cross-functional resourcing across active projects and initiatives.
  • Identify resource constraints, elevate gaps, and support trade-off decisions with leaders.
  • Establish, manage, and communicate portfolio budgets and related needs.
  • Lead multiyear pipeline planning by integrating roadmaps, budgets, and priorities.
  • Drive PMO operating discipline through portfolio reviews and risk management.
  • Partner with R&D, marketing, clinical, regulatory, quality, supply chain, manufacturing, finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide PM subject matter expertise and mentorship.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, MDR, design-control regulations, and quality-system requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop project managers supporting the Sports Surgical and Shoulder Reconstruction portfolios
  • Coordinate R&D and cross-functional resourcing across active projects, lifecycle initiatives, and future pipeline opportunities
  • Identify resource constraints, elevate gaps, and support trade-off decisions with functional leaders
  • Establish, manage, and communicate portfolio budgets, including resource assumptions, prototype and supplier needs, project expenses, and budget risks
  • Lead multiyear pipeline planning by integrating project roadmaps, resource plans, budget requirements, strategic priorities, and leadership decision points
  • Drive PMO operating discipline through portfolio reviews, stage-gate readiness, schedule performance, risk management, decision tracking, and timely issue communication
  • Partner with R&D, marketing, clinical, regulatory, quality, supply chain, manufacturing, finance, and other stakeholders
  • Provide project management subject matter expertise, mentorship, and best-practice guidance
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal, health, safety, environmental, and quality-system requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 6 years work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years project management experience in a medical device or similarly regulated industry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project, and Teams
  • Ability to create and manage project and program budgets
  • Track record of leading and working within cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects of varying complexity
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a varied workload
  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Success leading medical device projects from concept through market introduction, preferably in orthopaedics, sports medicine, extremities, shoulder reconstruction, or related implant/instrumentation platforms
  • Ability to ensure compliance with FDA, MDR, and design-control regulations
  • Ability to build effective interdependent partnering relationships
  • Negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to develop leadership capabilities and assimilate and communicate complex information from multiple sources
  • Ability to recognize and lead resolution of project issues and roadblocks
  • Ability to model and integrate Standards of Leadership into business practices
  • Up to 10% business travel may be required
  • Additional training in PMI, Six Sigma, or product development processes desired
  • Proficiency with project lifecycle management software preferred
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred
