**What you will do:**

**You will be a leading change agent in the software engineering organization. As a Quality Engineering Manager, you will lead quality engineering efforts within a Tile by ensuring testing strategy, automation, and governance align with business and technical goals. This involves collaborating with QA Directors, vendors, associate leads, and cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements, oversee testing activities, and provide leadership in test automation practices. Travel may include attending team-building meetings, PI planning sessions, and visits to medical facilities to strengthen product planning and team engagement. Given the remote team, these in-person sessions are crucial for alignment and teamwork.**

**Quality Engineering Overall Responsibilities (QA Manager - Tile/Pods):**

  • Validate, update, and monitor the QE strategy working with vendors and associate leads across Tile pods.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for product quality questions, working closely with product managers to understand features and quality requirements.
  • Oversee all Tile QE activities, including testing phases and product certification (functional and non-functional testing).
  • Act as an escalation point for SDETs and product quality issues.
  • Collaborate with xRD, Product, Engineering, DevOps to drive product goals and outcomes.

**Quality Engineering Execution (QA Manager - Tile/Pods):**

  • Establish QE KPIs and Metrics (Defect density, Test coverage, Defect rate, MTTD, Escaped defects, Defect Resolution Time) with Product, Engineering, and SDETs.
  • Provide QE estimates and strategies for new programs based on automation frameworks and complexity.
  • Manage QE data, environment usage, and test execution velocity.
  • Report on QE KPIs, identify risks, and run critical triage calls.
  • Ensure automation targets are met and test case coverage is adequate.
  • Develop and improve continuous QE processes aligned with overall strategy.

**Quality Engineering Thought Leadership (QA Manager - Tile/Pods):**

  • Contribute to the development of Ascension GMDx Tile QE strategy, standards, best practices, and blueprints.
  • Drive improvements in automation, performance testing, accessibility, UI, API, security testing, etc.

**Talent Management (QA Manager - Tile/Pods):**

  • Plan staffing and resources efficiently.
  • Mentor and coach team members in automation and testing practices.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support team growth.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and quality ownership.
  • Evaluate and collaborate with QE vendors and partners.

**Production Support (QA Manager - Tile/Pods):**

  • Oversee production testing and validate hotfixes.
  • Coordinate with QA, Engineering, and Business teams for updates.
  • Validate production changes to maintain quality.

**Requirements**

**Education:**

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

**Work Experience:**

  • 3 years of experience required.
  • 5 years of experience preferred.
  • 1 year of leadership or management experience preferred.

**Additional Preferences:**

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of software QA experience, with at least 3 in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in test automation (UI and API), familiarity with Playwright, Selenium, Postman, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of automation frameworks, scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, Java), and API testing strategies.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
