Dauch Corporation is seeking a Manager Quality to lead the QA and lean initiatives at the North Vernon, IN site. This role manages the quality team, supplier quality, and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies, while driving continuous improvement across processes and metrics.

The position requires a strong background in automotive quality, Six Sigma/Lean, and leadership of engineers, with experience in regulatory frameworks and data-driven problem solving.

Formación

• Professional experience focused on Quality Management in automotive/engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes (welding, assembly, stamping).
• Six Sigma/Lean experience with quality core tools (FMEA, SPC, MSA).
• IATF experience.
• Analytical aptitude; Power BI experience is a plus.
• Proven track record of leading and developing engineers.
• Proficient in problem-solving tools (Five Why, 8D, Shainin/DEMAIC).

Dauch is searching for a Manager Quality to join our team. This position will be based out of our North Vernon, IN location.

Job Description

The Quality Manager manages the daily operations of quality and lean activities, including quality system audits, continuous improvement programs, operational safety, and regulations requirements coordination. Manages staff and associate resources for quality-assurance coverage; builds and supports a high-performing team by managing goals/metrics, providing timely feedback on performance, and facilitating the talent-management process. Develops and implements effective programs, procedures, processes, goals, and methods to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate quality policies, and applicable industry quality standards. Manages all product and process audits and the corrective/preventive action system used to ensure compliance; manages all aspects of quality activities associated with the supplier base. Consolidates, analyzes, and reports key quality metrics on a regular basis to identify areas for improvement; leads the management team in the review of facilities’ quality metrics using disciplined problem-solving techniques to identify, implement, and correct/prevent actions.

• Establishes a quality culture by providing orientation, training and coaching to associates.
• Meets quality standards by enforcing production, productivity, quality, customer service, safety, security and health standards.
• Resolves operational problems and identifies business process improvements.
• Controls product quality inspections using manuals, internal resources and external benchmarks.
• Resolves product quality standard applications by examining and interpreting specifications, adding precision to vague references as needed.
• Provides management planning information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing product quality data and trends.
• Contributes to Quality Department and organization success by welcoming suggestions for continuous improvement and helping others achieve the goals of their positions.
• Manages product and process audits and the corrective/preventive action system to ensure compliance, manages all aspects of supplier quality
• Consolidates, analyzes and reports quality metrics to identify areas for improvement; leads the management team in reviewing the facility’s quality metrics using problem-solving techniques to identify, implement and correct/prevent actions.
• Ensures Quality standards correlate with corporate and industry standards.
• Leads the facility’s Quality Team covering all aspects of the associate lifecycle from the selection, recruitment and onboarding of new associate through to annual reviews, performance assessments and development goals.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

• Bachelors or Masters degree in an engineering or manufacturing discipline preferred, or equivalent experience
• Professional experience with a focus on Quality Management, ideally in a high volume automotive or engineering environment
• Good understanding of automotive manufacturing processes (e.g. welding, assembly, part stamping), functional and technical understanding of automotive components
• Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience, good knowledge of quality core tools (e.g. FMEA, SPC, MSA)
• IATF experience
• Analytical aptitude, initial experience using Power BI an advantage
• Proven track record of leading and developing a team of engineers
• Problem-solving mindset, familiarity with problem-solving tools (e.g. Five Why, 8D, Shainin and/or DEMAIC)
