Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of quality assurance experience in manufacturing, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Master's degree preferred; professional certifications in quality management or continuous improvement preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for QA and QC across manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and maintain quality management systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor quality performance metrics and drive corrective/preventive actions.
  • Lead investigations into nonconformances and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve products and processes.
  • Oversee internal and external audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Establish quality objectives and measure progress against goals.
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate direct reports.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or a related discipline
Master's degree in a related discipline (preferred)
Professional certifications in quality management, continuous improvement, or quality systems (preferred)

Job Description:

The Manager, Quality is responsible for leading and advancing the organization's quality management programs to ensure products consistently meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and company standards. This role develops and maintains quality systems, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and partners with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and operational performance. The Manager, Quality provides leadership in problem solving, corrective action processes, and compliance activities while fostering a culture of quality and accountability throughout the organization. This position contributes to operational excellence by ensuring effective quality controls, reducing defects, and supporting overall business objectives.

Primary Duties:
  • Provides leadership and strategic direction for quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing operations.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains quality management systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
  • Monitors quality performance metrics, identifies improvement opportunities, and drives corrective and preventive actions to address quality concerns.
  • Leads investigations into product and process nonconformances and facilitates root cause analysis efforts.
  • Collaborates with engineering, production, supply chain, and customer-facing teams to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversees internal and external audits and supports compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Establishes quality objectives and measures progress against organizational goals.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, quality awareness, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality programs and processes.
  • Analyze quality data and performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Manage quality audits, inspections, and compliance activities to ensure adherence to established standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Coordinate customer and supplier quality activities, including corrective action and issue resolution processes.
  • Monitor quality key performance indicators and prepare reports for leadership review.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or a related discipline; 5+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, including 2+ years of leadership experience.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications in quality management, continuous improvement, or quality systems are preferred.
  • HVAC manufacturing experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, auditing practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive action processes.
  • Knowledge of industry quality standards, regulatory requirements, and compliance principles.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with standard business and quality management tools and systems.
Essential and Physical Functions:
  • Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout manufacturing and office environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and leadership.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and interpret technical information, reports, and quality data.
  • Ability to use computers, office equipment, and other technology for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to inspect products, processes, and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing business needs.
Work Environment:
  • Perform duties in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Regular exposure to production areas with moving mechanical parts and varying noise levels.
  • Frequent interaction and collaboration with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and leadership teams.
  • Compliance with all applicable safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • May be exposed to temperature variations, dust, and other conditions commonly found in manufacturing facilities.
  • Use of personal protective equipment as required when entering designated production areas.
  • Occasional travel between company locations or customer and supplier sites may be required.
