Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace, a global manufacturer of aircraft engine components, seeks a Site Purchasing Manager in Newburyport, MA to drive production support and cost objectives. You will own commodities, negotiate with suppliers, and partner with planning, engineering, quality, and operations.

You will lead a small supply chain team, contribute to SIOP, and push cost-reduction initiatives while strengthening supplier performance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of procurement experience.
• 3 years of progressive procurement experience.
• 2 years of complex project management experience.
• 2 years of leadership experience.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be able to work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate prices for raw materials, shop supplies, and outside services to support production.
• Lead the site SIOP processes to ensure material orders, inventory and cash targets are met.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering, quality, and operations to support production and cost objectives.
• Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors.
• Lead a small team of supply chain specialists.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

About the Opportunity:

The Site Purchasing Manager conducts and oversees purchasing activities in Newburyport to support production and cost objectives. This position owns assigned commodities or suppliers, executes negotiations, and partners cross-functionally with planning, engineering, quality, and operations teams to support production and cost objectives. This position also contributes to continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives while developing deeper expertise in supplier performance, material planning and manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiate prices for raw materials, shop supplies, and outside services while maintaining materials to support production.
• Act as a working leader to implement and lead the site SIOP processes ensuring all material order is placed, inventory/cash targets are met and escalations from this process are worked to resolution in a timely and effective manner.
• Work in partnership with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
• Collaborate across the organization on policy deployment targets focused on cash generation and cost reduction.
• Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
• Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
• Lead a small team of supply chain specialists.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of progressive procurement experience – OR – in lieu of degree, 8 years of progressive procurement experience
• 2 years of complex project management experience
• 2 years of leadership experience
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Aerospace and/or manufacturing experience
• Strong understanding of Lean, Six Sigma and other process optimization tools to drive efficiency and readiness.
• Ability to manage cross-functional and matrixed teams and drive collaboration across departments.
• Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make informed decisions regarding readiness planning and process improvement.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment requiring the ability to pivot and adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Working Conditions

• Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
• Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
• Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
