Under the guidance of the Vice President, Domestic Learning Sales, the Manager, Public Sales for Gale will mentor and develop sales teams to drive performance and meet sales goals. This role involves creating, managing, and reporting on sales metrics, programs, and forecasts. It provides leadership and strategic direction within the sales organization.

What You'll Do Here

  1. Meet or exceed sales goals by guiding territory sales plans.
  2. Hire, train, evaluate, and lead sales team members.
  3. Manage sales forecasting and set performance targets.
  4. Assign territories and account responsibilities.
  5. Represent Gale at trade shows and customer events.
  6. Collaborate with team members to deliver sales presentations to key clients.
  7. Travel to meet clients, foster relationships, negotiate, and close deals.
  8. Work with the Vice President to monitor and control team expenditures within budget.
  9. Support ongoing sales and product training; evaluate and improve team skills.
  10. Analyze competitors to inform territory strategy.
  11. Contribute to marketing and product development efforts.
  12. Lead sales meetings and conferences.
  13. Conduct coaching sessions to improve performance and development.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills You Will Need Here

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Eight years of sales experience, including at least 3 years in sales management.
  • Experience working with inside and field sales teams.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets as a manager.
  • Problem-solving skills with limited standardization.
  • Validated leadership and team development skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with technology, desktop applications, and electronic references.
  • Expertise in B2B professional selling techniques via phone and face-to-face.
  • Knowledge of financial procedures, networking, and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical and strategic planning abilities.
  • Travel requirements between 25-50%.
