Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Scheduling Lead to oversee planning and scheduling for major life sciences capital projects in the United States. You will align objectives, milestones, and execution strategies across engineering, procurement, construction, equipment delivery, commissioning, and startup.

You will provide forecast and what-if analyses, perform critical path analysis, track milestones, and lead QA/QC reviews of schedules and forecasting deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Admin or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification preferred.
  • Ten+ years of progressive planning and scheduling experience.
  • At least two years of leadership or management responsibility.
  • Experience on large-scale pharmaceutical/biotech/advanced manufacturing capital projects.
  • Experience on projects >$1B Total Installed Cost preferred.
  • Advanced expertise in schedule development, CPM, forecasting, and recovery planning.
  • Experience leading integrated schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, and vendors.
  • Strong client management, consulting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and related tools.
  • Knowledge of commissioning, PQ, startup, and operational readiness in regulated life sciences environments.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and scheduling for major life sciences capital projects.
  • Ensure alignment of project objectives, milestones and execution strategies.
  • Oversee development, maintenance and analysis of integrated schedules across disciplines.
  • Provide schedule forecasting, critical path analysis, milestone tracking and what-if modeling.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews of schedules, progress updates and forecasts.
  • Coordinate schedule integration across owners, EPCM, contractors, vendors and stakeholders.
  • Monitor schedule performance, risks and trends; develop mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor scheduling professionals and support staffing and resource planning.

Job description


  • Lead planning and scheduling services for major life sciences capital projects

  • Ensure alignment of project objectives, milestones, and execution strategies

  • Oversee development, maintenance, and analysis of integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, equipment delivery, commissioning, and startup

  • Provide schedule forecasting, critical path analysis, milestone tracking, and what-if scenario modeling

  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews of project schedules, progress updates, schedule narratives, and forecasting deliverables

  • Coordinate schedule integration across owners, EPCM partners, contractors, equipment vendors, and third-party stakeholders

  • Monitor schedule performance, emerging risks, and trends

  • Develop mitigation and recovery strategies

  • Mentor scheduling professionals and support staffing, resource planning, and scheduling best practices

  • Support development and implementation of scheduling standards, processes, and reporting tools

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to project leadership and client stakeholders, providing schedule insights, forecasting, risk analysis, and recovery recommendations throughout the project lifecycle


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Certification preferred

  • Ten or more years of progressive planning and scheduling experience

  • At least two years of leadership or management responsibility

  • Experience supporting large-scale capital projects within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, or other highly technical environments

  • Experience supporting major capital projects exceeding $1 billion in total installed cost preferred

  • Advanced expertise in schedule development, critical path methodology, schedule analysis, forecasting, progress measurement, and recovery planning

  • Proven experience developing and managing integrated schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, and vendor organizations

  • Strong client management, consulting, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and related scheduling and analytics tools

  • Knowledge of commissioning, qualification, performance qualification (PQ), startup, and operational readiness activities within regulated life sciences environments highly desirable

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills
