Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Manager Programs 2 for the JTAGS program, based in Colorado Springs, CO. The role reports to the Global Situational Awareness Business Area Manager and oversees the JTAGS program lifecycle from inception to completion.

  • Comprehension of organizational financial management and reporting
  • Must possess a Top-Secret clearance based on a Special Background Investigation and be eligible for SCI

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) sector is seeking a Manager Programs 2 to join our Strategic and Mobile Command and Control (SMC2) Operating Unit (OU). This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO. This individual will report to the Global Situational Awareness Business Area Manager for the Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS) program. JTAGS is an in-theater military system that provides continuous 24/7 early warning, alerting, and cueing of tactical ballistic missile launches.

In this role, the JTAGS Program Manager is responsible for all programmatic elements. The PM directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas. In addition, the JTAGS PM drives collaboration across Engineering, Field Support, Training, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Business Management.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must possess a Top-Secret clearance based on a Special Background Investigation and be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the JTAGS Program and/or Other Missile Warning Programs
  • Experience with USSF customers. Specifically the 4th Sustainment Squadron (4STS) and/or 5th Space Warning Squadron (5SWS)
  • International Experience
  • CAM experience and proficiency
  • PMI PMP Certification
  • Prior experience in proposal development, capture planning and growth strategy

Primary Level Salary Range: $146,500.00 - $219,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\'s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
