Job summary

AAR Corp. is seeking a Manager, Program in Indianapolis to oversee aircraft modification programs, including schedule, budget, engineering status, certification and kit development.

You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with engineering, suppliers and certification bodies, and ensure on-time delivery while managing risk, changes, and stakeholder communications. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage assigned programs, including development of overall program schedule, budget, engineering status, certification, supplier management and kit development.
  • Review Statement of Work (SOW) for program and customer specific requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering requirements with Director of Engineering and Project Engineer and monitor out of scope items to ensure projects remain within plan and budget.
  • Prepare, review and submit change orders to customer.
  • Identify, track and close action items resulting from meetings and reviews.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the program lifecycle, ensuring timely coordination and resolution of challenges.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and successful program execution.
  • Support customer and supplier kickoff and design review meetings.
  • Provide regular program updates, status reports and review progress with management and recommend corrective actions.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Assist with preparing budget and estimates in response to customer change requests.
  • Occasional travel as required (domestic and international).

Description:

  • Support customer and supplier kickoff and design review meetings.
  • Provide regular program updates, status reports and review progress with management and recommend corrective actions.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers, suppliers and stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external parties.
  • Assist with preparing budget and estimates in response to customer change requests.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Occasional travel is required to meet with customers and suppliers.Able to travel both domestically and internationally on short notice (10%).

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful in this role:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical or Mechanical preferred) or equivalent technical background.
  • At least three-to-five years of engineering and/or program management experience.
  • Developed understanding of project management and related processes.

Must be well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.

  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with engineering/program team, customers, stakeholders and senior leadership.
