Job summary

AAR Corp is seeking a Manager, Training to oversee the technical and regulatory training program. You will coordinate training needs, supervise instructors, and ensure FAA approval processes are followed for updates to the training curriculum.

You will manage the new-hire orientation, safety and procedural training, and explore delivery options across classroom, on-the-job, and distance learning. Strong ITAR compliance and US Person status are required.

Qualifications

  • ITAR compliance is a must.
  • U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree or 8 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate training needs for technical personnel (initial and recurrent).
  • Lead instructors in planning and delivering training.
  • Manage orientation training for new hires and specific function training (RII, OJT, safety, etc.).
  • Maintain FAA-approved training program documents and obtain required FAA approvals.
  • Explore training delivery options (classroom, on-the-job, distance learning, e-learning).
  • Maintain training records and conduct periodic audits.

Description

The Manager, Technical & Regulatory Training is responsible for coordinating all customers, technical and regulatory training requirements and for overall management of the training program.

What you will be responsible for:
  • Maintaining the processes for identify training needs for all technical personnel, both initial and recurrent.
  • Supervise, lead and direct instructors in planning, organizing and performing training.
  • Coordinate training as a part of the new hire/orientation process.
  • Coordinate training for specific functions, including RII, departmental OJT, procedural/process training, safety training, etc.
  • Maintaining a current and accurate FAA-approved training program document as required by Section 6.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Quality, obtaining all required FAA approvals for the training program and revisions.
  • Identifying options for training that meet the training needs, such as classroom, on the-job, distance learning, or computer-based instruction.
  • Coordinating the training process decisions with the Director of Quality and with the Director of Engineering.
  • Maintaining and ensuring the system of record keeping for all technical training records.
  • Initiating periodic audits of training records and ensuring correction of any discrepancies found.
  • Maintaining employment Summary Forms.
  • Provide company educational training, certification, qualification, and other allied programs to improve the overall efficiency, certification and competency of individual employees, and total work force in general.
  • All other duties as assigned. In the absence of the Trainer, the Manager, Technical & Regulatory Training or an appropriate Subject Matter Expert (S.M.E.), delegated by the Manager, acts on his or her behalf.
Qualifications

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • This position requires compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Candidates must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or individual admitted as a refugee or granted asylum).
  • High school diploma or general education degree GED required.
  • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
