Qualifications

  • DVM, VMD, or equivalent doctoral degree in veterinary medicine.
  • 4+ years of experience in the veterinary industry or related experience, with a proven track record of influencing global or regional strategy.
  • 3+ years of clinical veterinary practice

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute high-impact communication strategies, global narratives, and tailored assets for therapeutic categories that engage veterinary professionals across the clinical spectrum.
  • Ensure all scientific claims and communications are clinically sound, technically accurate, commercially compelling, and competitively differentiated.
  • Analyze global veterinary market trends, clinical gaps, and competitive intelligence to generate actionable commercial insights that inform future communication strategies.
  • Lead the Scientific Communications performance tracker to evaluate quarterly metrics, optimize communication channels, and maximize commercial impact.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, Legal, Regulatory) and regional markets to align scientific messaging with business objectives while mitigating compliance risks.
  • Establish and document critical path processes and cross-functional workflows using the RACI framework to drive organizational clarity and alignment.
  • Provide strategic guidance and facilitate the sharing of clinical nutrition expertise across functions, time zones, and matrixed global teams.

As a key member of the Scientific Strategy and Communications team sitting within Global Professional & Veterinary Affairs (GPVA), the Manager, Professional Scientific Communications reports to the Sr. Director Professional Communications and supports therapeutic and wellness portfolios globally. In this influential role, you will champion the translation of Hill’s cutting-edge nutritional science into high-impact communication strategies and compelling narratives. You will bridge R&D discoveries with commercial success, transforming complex clinical data into actionable strategies that drive product recommendation, elevate scientific reputation, and build deep trust among veterinary healthcare professionals worldwide.

Required Qualifications
  • DVM, VMD, or equivalent doctoral degree in veterinary medicine
  • 4+ years of experience in the veterinary industry or related experience, with a proven track record of influencing global or regional strategy
  • 3+ years of clinical veterinary practice experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in scientific communications and translating clinical insights into commercial messaging within the animal health or veterinary sector
  • Mastery of scientific storytelling, presentation creation, and writing with the ability to translate complex science into clear business value
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, solve problems, and work effectively across cross-functional, matrixed global organizations
  • Demonstrated functional competencies in professional insights, veterinary professional partnerships, digital aptitude, and commercial collaboration
  • Results-oriented self-starter with strong analytical skills, foundational business acumen, and proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc) and/or MS Excel, Word, etc.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $124,000.00 - $174,000.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.

Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
