Job summary

Hill's Pet Nutrition, part of Colgate-Palmolive, seeks an Academic Affairs Manager to be the field-based liaison with Colleges of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Technician Schools. You will provide education and influence to ensure students, faculty and house officers have the knowledge to confidently feed and recommend Hill's products.

Based from home near Kansas City with virtual and in-person coverage, this role travels 2–3 nights per week to 6–7 veterinary colleges across surrounding

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in veterinary medicine (DVM, VMD or equivalent).
  • 4+ years of clinical practice experience.
  • Current, active veterinary license in at least one state.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with Colleges of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Technician Schools to provide education and resources.
  • Travel 2–3 nights per week to cover 6-7 colleges across surrounding states.

The Academic Affairs Manager role is a field-based role within Hill's US Professional and Veterinary Affairs (PVA) Team, a team that serves as Hill's direct connection to the veterinary profession and the broader animal health industry. Members of the Academic Affairs Manager (AAM) Team are the direct point of contact between the company and Colleges of Veterinary Medicine (CVMs) and Veterinary Technician Schools (VTS). This position reports to the Professional Strategic Initiatives Manager-Schools. Academic Affairs Managers engage with key contacts in schools providing education and influence that ensures students, faculty, house officers and school staff have the knowledge and tools needed to confidently feed and recommend Hill's products.

Their work ultimately ensures Hill's is positioned as a valuable and trusted partner providing scientific, evidence-based advancements in the field of nutrition and demonstrating dedication to transforming the lives of people and their pets.

Based on your home office in or near Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago or Denver and surrounding area providing both virtual and in-person coverage to 6-7 veterinary colleges in the surrounding states, as assigned. Overnight travel is required, with an average of 2-3 nights per week, but will vary week to week.

Required Qualifications
  • Doctorate Professional degree in veterinary medicine (DVM, VMD or equivalent)
  • At least 4+ years of clinical practice experience required; current, active license to practice veterinary medicine in at least one state.

  • Able to work independently to handle a fast paced schedule with irregular hours and to handle travel within geography/region. Able to fulfill travel requirements of the position (on average 2-3 nights per week, but will vary).

Compensation And Benefits

Salary Range $109,600.00 - $155,000.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
