Job summary

RTX, a leader in aerospace and defense, seeks a Production Control Manager to translate master schedules into daily shop-floor execution, drive on-time delivery, and resolve disruptions across the value stream.

You will lead a team of production controllers, manage work orders, and collaborate with Master Scheduling to optimize future schedules. Strong Lean/Six Sigma and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent with 8+ years' experience.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Experience in SAP or ERP systems.
  • Experience in material management or supply chain.
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge.
  • Lean tools through CI/Kaizen events.
  • Strong communication and collaboration.
  • CORE Lean Six Sigma or similar certification.
  • APICS CPIM certification.

Responsibilities

  • Translate master schedule to daily shop floor reality and resolve disruptions.
  • Lead expediting and address material shortages or staffing gaps.
  • Run weekly production control and health-measure meetings.
  • Manage work order release, prioritization, and resequencing.
  • Drive root cause analysis for schedule misses and corrective actions.
  • Maintain MES/ERP/SAP for real-time visibility.
  • Collaborate with Master Scheduling to feed constraints into schedules.
  • Manage production controllers and mentor staff.
  • Report OTD/AMS/OTD metrics to leadership.
  • Support new programs, ramp changes, and lean initiatives.

We are looking for a Production Control Manager who owns the execution side of production - translating master schedule into daily shop floor reality, resolving disruptions, and driving OTD across the value stream. Serves as a critical link between planning/ scheduling and manufacturing operations. Relocation Assistance will be provided.

What You Will Do
  • Monitor daily production status against schedule; identify and escalates variances, delays, and constraints
  • Lead shop-floor expediting: help resolve material shortages, team staffing gaps that threaten schedule adherence
  • Run weekly production control meetings team meeting/ Health measures meetings
  • Manage work order release, prioritization, and re-sequencing in response to real-time disruptions
  • Drive root cause analysis on recurring schedule misses; own corrective action follow‑through
  • Maintain and improve production tracking systems (MES, ERP/SAP) for real-time visibility
  • Partner with Master Scheduling to feed back execution constraints into future schedule builds
  • Manage a team of production controllers; set priorities and develop/ mentor staff
  • Report and manage EOTD/ IOTD/AMS OTD, schedule attainment (OTR/OTS/OTF), Aged WIP/NCM, E&O and other related metrics to leadership
  • Support new program introduction, end of life program ramp down, rate changes, and continuous improvement initiatives (lean/Six Sigma)
Qualifications
  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Experience in SAP and/or other ERP system.
  • Experience in Material management or supply chain or SIOP or Operations.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of various MS Office software
  • Demonstrated experience in application of Lean tools through CI/Kaizen events.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, collaboration and influencing others.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Managing resources along with effective time management and organizational skills
  • CORE, Lean Six Sigma or similar certification.
  • APICS CPIM certification.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
