Since 1920, this family-owned business has hired employees who are masters of their craft. We are innovators, architects of culture, experts, and forward thinkers. We demand excellence because we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and the authenticity of our brand.

New Era is continuing its digital transformation - from customer-facing initiatives like tier-one commerce, SaaS platforms, and global ERP platform, to internal changes in how we deliver programs through Agile frameworks and innovation. As our team evolves, we recognize the need to add skillsets that support this shift.

The Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) plans, directs, and governs New Era's global portfolio of enterprise technology initiatives, including ERP modernization (SAP S/4HANA), e-commerce platforms, enterprise integrations and middleware, cloud data platforms, and AI solutions. Based at Headquarters and reporting to the Senior Director, IT Enterprise Architecture, this role applies specialized knowledge of information systems, the software development lifecycle (SDLC), enterprise architecture, and IT financial management to evaluate, prioritize, and oversee the delivery of complex, multi-system technology programs across global regions. The Manager, PMO operates New Era's hub-and-spoke portfolio governance model, facilitates executive technology steering and prioritization forums, designs and builds the PMO's portfolio management platforms, reporting, dashboards, and supporting applications, and leads the PMO team, including Project Analysts. The role requires the theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge in information systems and technology program management, typically acquired through a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.

The Information Technology team at New Era Cap enables the organization’s operations by delivering reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions. They manage enterprise systems, infrastructure, and digital tools to support day-to-day business activities and enhance productivity across teams. The team partners cross-functionally to implement technology initiatives, provide technical support, and drive continuous improvement in system performance, data security, and user experience.

Responsibilities
  • Design and operate the intake, evaluation, and prioritization process for technology initiatives. Assess each request for technical feasibility, architectural fit with New Era's enterprise architecture standards, system integration dependencies, data and security implications, total cost of ownership, and ROI, in partnership with Enterprise Architecture and Information Security
  • Direct the planning and execution oversight of complex, multi-system IT programs such as ERP implementations, e-commerce platform rollouts, integration and middleware builds, data platform migrations, and cloud adoption. Define and enforce SDLC-aligned stage gates (requirements, solution design, build, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, cutover, and hypercare) across Agile/Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models
  • Architect, configure, and build the PMO's project and portfolio management platforms, including workflows, intake forms, approval routing, project templates, and automation in tools such as Jira, Asana, AirTable, Zendesk, or Sharepoint. Design and develop custom applications and integrations that support the PMO function using low-code platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate), scripting languages such as Python, and REST APIs that connect portfolio tools with ERP, finance, collaboration, and data platforms. Apply software engineering practices including requirements definition, data modeling, version control, testing, security and access controls, and release management
  • Design the portfolio data model and build automated data pipelines from project, financial, and resource systems into New Era's analytics environment (e.g., Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric). Develop executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and self-service reports in Power BI or Tableau using SQL and DAX, providing leadership an accurate, near real-time view of delivery health, technical risk, spend, capacity, and benefits realization
  • Manage technology portfolio budgets, forecasts, and actuals across capital and operating expense, including software licensing, cloud consumption, and vendor statements of work. Model resource capacity across internal technical teams and offshore and nearshore delivery partners, and recommend sequencing and trade-offs to leadership
  • Identify and manage cross-system technical risks and dependencies, including interface impacts, data migration, environment and release conflicts, and cutover readiness. Coordinate release planning and change control with application, infrastructure, and integration teams
  • Facilitate executive technology steering committee and portfolio prioritization forums. Govern delivery by systems integrators and technology vendors, including statement of work scope, technical deliverables, acceptance criteria, and change orders, in partnership with Procurement and Legal
  • Lead, mentor, and develop PMO staff, including Project Analysts. Define portfolio standards, templates, and governance artifacts (charters, RACI matrices, RAID logs, decision logs), and introduce AI-enabled practices that improve delivery predictability and reporting
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other duties as assigned
