Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a seasoned Planning Lead within the Integrated Operations Division. You will supervise analysts/planners, drive shop repair scheduling, and oversee material planning and KPI development to optimize production performance.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with Finance and Base Operations, and present milestones to senior leadership, ensuring timely delivery of initiatives that benefit customers and the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience/training
  • 4 years experience within Airline Operations
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (preferred)
  • 5 years' experience within Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of analysts/planners responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining shop repair scheduling, bill of works, metrics, and material planning
  • Identifies opportunities to leverage tools, processes, and reporting for performance improvement
  • Develops analysts/planners to achieve higher proficiency and readiness for advanced roles
  • Develops project timelines, goals, and stakeholder engagement
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify business challenges and craft solutions
  • Updates senior leadership on project milestones and justifications for initiatives
  • Uses multiple data sources to identify optimization opportunities and corrective actions
  • Guides and mentors staff, empowering timely, informed decision‑making
  • Focuses on customer needs and requirements

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, Accounting or other business related field or equivalent experience/training
  • 4 years experience within Airline Operations

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma
  • 5 years'of experience within Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations preferred
