Job summary

Orlando Health, Inc. seeks a Pharmacy leader to coordinate and oversee pharmacy services within the hospital. You will work under the Director of Pharmacy Services to implement systems, policies, and procedures that ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations across the pharmacy team.

You will participate in quality and process-improvement initiatives, manage staffing and performance, and collaborate with clinical staff to develop programs. Florida licensure or timely attainment is required.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy degree (B.S. or Pharm.D.) is required.
  • Two (2) years hospital pharmacy practice with one (1) year supervisory experience or two (2) years ASHP-accredited residency with one (1) year supervisory experience.
  • Must be licensed as a pharmacist by the Florida Board of Pharmacy or must obtain licensure within 4 months of hire; license must be active once obtained.

A Brief Overview

Coordinates activities of team members providing pharmacy services under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy Services.

What you will do
  • Coordinates development and implementation of systems and policies and procedures for effective pharmacy services in conjunction with other members of the Pharmacy team.
  • Participates in the Process Improvement and Quality Management programs and assures compliance of assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Meets regularly with the management team to plan, revise or implement new services, and/or policies and procedures.
  • Meets regularly with team members to share information, provide guidance and review and resolve issues.
  • Assures compliance with Safety and Infection Control practices as well as meeting legal requirements within areas designated.
  • Coordinates scheduling and supervision of team members as appropriate to achieve operational goals.
  • Interviews prospective team members with other members of team and participates in their selection.
  • Participates in all personnel management issues involving team members.
  • Coordinates written performance evaluations for pharmacist and technician team members and reviews each evaluation with the team members within the specified period.
  • Is responsible for pharmacy operations in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy Services.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills in both verbal and nonverbal communication behaviors.
  • Manage technology and automation to allow for optimum resources
  • Maintains current knowledge in Pharmacy and management issues by attending seminars, reading journals, etc.
  • Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains an open communication process with all team members and physicians.
  • Participates actively in the Pharmacy leadership team.
  • Collaborates with Clinical staff to help develop and implement clinical programs and education for team members and service areas.
Qualifications
  • Pharmacy degree (Bachelor of Science, Pharm.D.) is required.
  • Must meet one of the following:
  • Two (2) years of hospital pharmacy practice experience with one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Two (2) years completion of ASHP-accredited residency with one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Must be licensed as a pharmacist by the Florida Board of Pharmacy or must obtain licensure within 4 months of hire. Once obtained, license must be maintained as active.
