Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Supervisor to oversee daily delivery of pharmaceutical care to hospital patients and coordinate a team of pharmacists, technicians, and interns. The role supports the Director of Pharmacy in maintaining regulatory compliance and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate will have a licensed Pharmacist in WV or PA, with at least five years of hospital pharmacy experience and demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Current Pharmacist license as required by state board where services will be provided.
  • Five years of hospital-based pharmacist experience.
  • Experience in pharmacy leadership or supervisory roles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily delivery of pharmaceutical care to hospital patients.
  • Supervises staff: pharmacists, technicians, interns, and other team members.
  • Ensures controlled substances are managed in compliance with laws and formulary is maintained.
  • Participates in staffing, training, and performance evaluations as directed by the Director of Pharmacy.

Ensures pharmacy inventory is maintained at appropriate levels in a cost-conscious manner to promote availability of items in the Formulary10. Participates in and/or provides support to hospital committees as agreed upon by committee members and the Director of Pharmacy11. Participates in departmental and hospital performance improvement activities to promote quality in the medication use process12. Assists department and hospital in maintaining compliance with accreditation standards13. Assists in presenting medical, nursing, or department in-service programs14. Performs duties of Staff or Clinical Pharmacist, as required15. Supervises Staff Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Interns; other management and support staff as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy16. Reviews unit inspections and verifies these are completed monthly. Informs Director of compliance issues17. Assures completion of new hire and annual competencies for all employees in the department18. Monitors and documents staff performance. Assists Director with Staff performance appraisals19. Assumes the duty of developing, implementing and oversight of the Departmental staffing schedule20. Performs other duties as otherwise assigned by Director of PharmacyFor facilities with specialty accreditation requirements:1. Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards.
