Job summary

Spectrum is seeking a Manager, Payroll to lead payroll operations in the United States. You will ensure accurate, timely payments for hourly and salaried staff while upholding compliance across processes.

In this role, you will manage system setups and tax configurations, monitor withholdings, and coordinate with external tax professionals. You will also drive SOX-compliant documentation and collaborate with finance and HR to optimize payroll practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years managing multi-state payroll.
• 3+ years management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and distribution of hourly and salaried payroll.
• Manage payroll system setups, including pay rules in the Time and Attendance application, and handle all earnings, deductions and tax configurations.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act processes, documenting procedures and maintaining payroll records.
• Monitor federal, state and local tax withholdings, benefit contributions and deductions from paychecks.
• Coordinate with third-party tax preparers for timely and accurate tax filings and manage inquiries from taxing authorities.
• Ensure seamless integration of payroll information with the accounting system and oversee payroll account analysis.
• Direct the preparation and filing of reports to government agencies, organizations and employees, and recommend improvements to payroll methods and procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve payroll issues and manage vendor relationships for system changes.
