Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee all departmental operations and ensure safe, efficient, high-quality performance. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with point of care testing protocols, and coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to support patient care and institutional goals.

The role requires a Medical Technology bachelor’s degree (MBA/Health Admin preferred), 5 years of clinical experience with supervisory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or closely related field required.
• Master's Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration preferred.
• 5 years of clinical experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in an acute care hospital.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area.
• Certification in Medical Technology and MT/ MLS by ASCP, AMT or AAB required for management of the clinical laboratory; AAB provisional certification not accepted.
• Certification in Histology (HTL/HT/CT) for Anatomic Pathology management required.

Qualifications

Education

Work Experience

• 5 years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities, preferably in an acute care hospital setting is Required
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Management of Clinical Laboratory only: Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) . AAB provisional certification not accepted Required
• Management of Anatomic Pathology (Cytology/Histology): Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/or Cytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Required
