Responsibilities:
  1. The Outsourced Client Controller for the technology industry provides general advisory service to clients, via scheduled remote meetings regarding the interpretation and use of financial statements, cash-flow forecasts and budgets.
  2. Direct point of contact for technology industry client engagements.
  3. Partners with client or Fractional CFO/Finance Directors to maintain and foster relationships within the tech-innovation industry.
  4. Research and share knowledge of best practices in areas of business concern or interest to each client.
  5. Oversees client accounting team ensuring expectations are met on all client deliverables.
  6. Manage financial reporting accuracy for clients and investors.
  7. Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal team.
  8. Responsible for reviewing and finalizing accounting period close.
  9. Analyze and review financial statements, management reports, and other key performance indicators.
  10. Prepares cash-flow forecasts, budgets and assist CFO with projections and financial models.
  11. Prepares financial data for new capital raises or data rooms for due diligence, when applicable.
  12. Work with client to review and strengthen internal controls.
  13. Evaluate accounting policies and procedures to help recommend process improvements.
  14. Manage internal team’s budget and work to maintain performance expectations of staff.
  15. Work on multiple projects of varying size & complexities simultaneously from pre-revenue startups to companies preparing for exit.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  2. 5+ years of advanced, hands-on full cycle accounting experience including financial statement preparation as an assistant controller or controller or in a similar capacity in public accounting.
  3. Experience working as a financial controller in the technology industry preferred.
  4. Experience with venture capital or private equity backed portfolio companies desired, but not required.
  5. Previous public accounting experience preferred, but not required.
  6. Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
  7. Proven ability to build and manage multiple relationships.
  8. Must have exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
  9. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred but not required.
  10. Experience using Sage Intacct, Net Suite, QuickBooks Online, and Bill.com preferred.
  11. Ability to prioritize and work comfortably in a fast-paced, project management work environment.
