Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Outsourced Client Controller for the technology industry, providing advisory services via scheduled remote meetings regarding financial statements, cash-flow forecasts, and budgets.
• Act as the primary contact for technology industry client engagements.
• Partner with clients or Fractional CFOs/Finance Directors to build and maintain relationships within the tech-innovation sector.
• Research and share best practices related to clients' business concerns or interests.
• Oversee client accounting teams to ensure deliverables meet expectations.
• Manage the accuracy of financial reporting for clients and investors.
• Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal teams.
• Review and finalize accounting period closes.
• Analyze financial statements, management reports, and KPIs.
• Prepare cash-flow forecasts, budgets, and assist with projections and financial models.
• Assist in preparing financial data for capital raises or due diligence processes.
• Collaborate with clients to review and enhance internal controls.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting policies and procedures.
• Manage internal team budgets and performance expectations.
• Handle multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities, from pre-revenue startups to companies preparing for exit.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• At least 5 years of comprehensive, hands-on full-cycle accounting experience, including financial statement preparation, in roles such as assistant controller or controller.
• Experience as a financial controller in the technology sector is preferred.
• Experience with venture capital or private equity-backed companies is desirable but not required.
• Previous public accounting experience is a plus.
• Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
• Proven ability to manage multiple relationships effectively.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Professional certifications like CPA or CMA are preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, and Bill.com is preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced, project-oriented environment.
