This role will provide outsourced accounting and advisory services to Wipfli clients in the commercial real estate industry.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Manage a remote accounting team, including scope of work, job time budgets, and profitability.
• Provide general advisory services to clients through scheduled remote meetings regarding financial statements.
• Serve as the direct point of contact for real estate investment client engagements.
• Partner with clients from private equity, joint ventures, and other investors, focusing on the real estate industry.
• Research and share best practices in areas relevant to each client.
• Calculate investor returns, budget/forecast asset performance, and prepare financial data for loan covenants.
• Advise on cash flow, debt structure, and leverage.
• Leverage data analytics and embrace new technology, including various accounting software.
• Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and internal teams.
• Advise clients on process improvements in their accounting departments and internal controls.
• Meet with investors to review management reports and key performance indicators.
• Prepare financial data for loan covenants as applicable.
• Mentor and train direct reports to support their growth.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• 8+ years of advanced, hands-on full cycle accounting experience, including financial statement preparation within the commercial real estate industry.
• Previous public accounting experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
• Ability to quickly learn new technology and accounting software.
• Experience with Netsuite, Yardi, Appfolio, QuickBooks Online, and Sage Intacct is preferred but not required.
• Proven ability to build and manage relationships.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred but not required.
• Demonstrate adaptability and quick learning skills.

Our compensation is fair, transparent, and competitive. The estimated base pay range for this role is $88,000 to $160,000, with offers typically not at the maximum, allowing for future increases. Actual salary depends on location, skills, experience, education, certifications, business needs, current pay, and applicable laws.

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance and other factors.
