Job summary

Solaris Energy Infrastructure, Inc. is seeking a hands-on O&M Manager to lead day-to-day operations at a power plant. You will supervise Team Leads and operators, ensuring safe, reliable operation and serving as the link between the plant floor and the Director of Operations.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem-solver who thrives on accountability and structure in a fast-paced industrial environment. On-site work is required at a remote facility.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of progressive experience in power generation operations and maintenance, with direct experience in combustion turbines.
• Experience in islanded, isolated, or microgrid power systems preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and budget management skills.
• Valid drivers license; willingness to work on-site at a remote or islanded facility as required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for the safety of all personnel working at / on the power plant and the efficient operation of power plant equipment.
• Provide safe and reliable power to the customer.
• Supervise and direct the Team Leads and instruct them in assigned duties and O&M procedures.
• Ensure proper and safe operation of power generation, electrical, and auxiliary machinery; keep the Director of Operations informed of status changes.
• Coordinate with Team Leads to maintain cleanliness of watch stations and secure equipment, tools, and loose materials to prevent damage or injury.
• Draft SOPs for review and approval by the Director of Operations.
• Coordinate with maintenance planners to schedule actions.
• Close out work orders in SERVICEMAX after completion.
• Review daily JSAs for accuracy.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on, safety-driven O&M Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our power plant. This role is central to supervising Team Leads and operators, keeping equipment running safely and reliably, and acting as the critical link between the plant floor and the Director of Operations. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a natural problem-solver, and someone who thrives on accountability and structure in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Essential Functions

• Directly responsible for the safety of all personnel working at / on the power plant and the efficient operation of power plant equipment
• Provide safe and reliable power to the customer
• Supervise and direct the Team Leads as needed and instruct them in assigned duties and O&M procedures
• Ensure the proper and safe operation of assigned power generation, electrical, and associated auxiliary machinery; keeping the Director of Operations informed of any change in status of assigned equipment
• Work with the Team Leads to ensure that personnel on shift maintain cleanliness of their associated watch stations; direct the proper securing of equipment, tools, and any loose materials to prevent damage to machinery, injury to personnel, and fire hazards
• Ensure that the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) log is maintained properly, and provide the first line of defense in preventing LOTO non-compliance - and all safety policies
• Review all Temporary Standing Orders (TSOs) and Temporary Plant Alterations (TPAs) and recommend to the Director of Operations any additional TSOs or TPAs that need to be implemented
• Recommend to the Director of Operations any Standing Orders that need to be issued
• Draft all Standard Operating Procedures for review and approval by the Director of Operations
• Solicit feedback from Team Leads and operators on ways to improve plant policies, operations, or procedures
• Ensure all maintenance is performed safely & in accordance with approved procedures
• Coordinate with Maintenance planners to effectively plan maintenance actions on the power plant
• Uphold all standards outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Foster Solaris Energy Infrastructure's CREATORS culture to all personnel
• Maintain and verify plant documentation, to include, equipment logs, downtime log, opening and closing of work orders in SERVICEMAX, plant turnover sheets, and control room log
• Responsible for closing out work orders in SERVICEMAX after completion
• Review daily all JSAs for accuracy

Qualifications

Experience/Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline strongly preferred.
• Equivalent combination of technical education, military training, and/or direct industry experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 3-5+ years of progressive experience in power generation operations and maintenance, with direct experience in combustion turbines required.
• Prior experience in islanded, isolated, or microgrid power systems strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of combustion turbine theory, controls, and auxiliary systems.
• Working knowledge of microgrid controls, frequency/voltage regulation, and islanded grid behavior.
• Understanding of electrical protection schemes, switchgear, and SCADA/DCS control systems.
• Ability to respond to and lead the team through emergency operational events, including off-hours response.
• Strong leadership, communication, and budget management skills.
• Valid driver's license; willingness to work on-site at a remote or islanded facility as required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status.
