Job summary

Wilsonart is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee inventory management, warehouse operations, and logistics. You will supervise staff, ensure safety standards, and coordinate customer service and deliveries to maintain efficient, safe handling of products.

The role requires experience in warehousing, transportation, and strong communication skills to drive performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Strong knowledge of inventory systems and warehousing/transportation functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory levels using automated systems and maintain accuracy.
• Supervise supervisory personnel and manage warehouse operations.
• Lead customer service metrics and related processes.
• Manage warehouse safety program and ensure compliance with inspections and audits.
• Coordinate freight rates negotiations with carriers.
• Oversee accounts receivable and customer order entry processes.
• Plan work assignments and schedule customer orders across routes.

Job Description

The Operations Manager oversees all aspects of inventory management, warehouse operations, and logistics coordination to ensure efficient and safe handling of products and timely delivery to customers. This role involves managing inventory levels, supervising personnel, maintaining safety standards, negotiating freight rates, and coordinating customer service operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Evaluate and maintain proper inventory levels for all products using automated computer system devices
• Manage supervisory personnel.
• Oversee and manage company customer service and operating metrics.
• Oversee and manage the company warehouse safety program. Ensure that the warehouse receives passing grades on all safety inspections & audits. Ensure all employees are completing monthly safety trainings.
• Train personnel as necessary.
• Negotiate common carrier freight rates.
• Oversee performance of basic human resource functions.
• Oversee customer order entry, billing and Accounts Receivables.
• Plan the work assignments.
• Oversee scheduling of customer orders via established routes & company delivery vehicles.
• Assist the needs of the customer.
• Perform other tasks as required.
• Maintain accurate and up to date customer pricing records within INFOR.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations, safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules governing work standards.
• Knowledge of inventory systems and product inventories.
• Knowledge of warehousing and transportation functions.
• Ability to communicate well in oral and written forms

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree Required or equivalent combination of education and experience; 1yr experience may substitute for 1yr of degree

Experience

• 4+ years of Operations Management experience

Physical Requirements

Sitting in the same location of standing/walking; required to stoop, climb or lift light material (10-20lbs) or equipment.
