Job summary

The Freeman Company is seeking a Manager of Operations to oversee warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety compliance, ensuring readiness for events and client needs. You will lead daily workflows, manage personnel, and drive continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in warehouse roles within the tradeshow/event industry, 3–5 years of supervisory experience, forklift certification, and strong communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate within a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, train, develop, and evaluate warehouse personnel.
• Manage daily warehouse operations, labor resources, and project workflow for show and client requirements.
• Coordinate activities for show preparation, inventory pulling, staging, receiving, storage, and movement.
• Oversee receiving operations and ensure assets are tracked, stored, and returned to inventory.
• Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and space to support efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist with inventory systems, processes, and reporting.
• Monitor inbound/outbound shipments and manage discrepancies, damage, and variance.

Summary

The Manager Operations oversees warehouse operations, inventory management, and warehouse personnel to ensure equipment readiness, inventory accuracy, and efficient event support. This role leads daily workflow, maintains a safe and organized warehouse environment, and partners with cross-functional teams to support successful event execution while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, train, develop, and evaluate warehouse personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer service excellence.
• Manage daily warehouse operations, labor resources, and project workflow to ensure timely and accurate execution of show and client requirements.
• Coordinate warehouse activities for show preparation, inventory pulling, staging, receiving, storage, and material movement.
• Oversee receiving operations and ensure all company and client assets are accurately received, tracked, stored, and returned to inventory.
• Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and space utilization to support operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.
• Assist with continuously improving inventory systems, processes, and reporting while ensuring consistent standards and data accuracy.
• Monitor inbound and outbound shipments, investigate discrepancies, and manage damage, loss, and variance reporting.
• Manage warehouse equipment and facility maintenance programs to ensure operational readiness and minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and safety standards; actively promote a safe work environment and participate in safety initiatives.
• Prepare and analyze operational reports related to inventory, storage, asset utilization, damages, repairs, and warehouse performance.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Account Teams to support client inventory reporting, storage reporting, and billing requirements.
• Attend and participate in operational, project, leadership, and safety meetings.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Cross-rental tracking, return, and billing handoff.
• Plan warehouse labor and overtime based on show calendars, including nights and weekends.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of warehouse experience in the tradeshow and event industry or related warehouse operations experience.
• Three to five (3 -5) years of supervisory experience.
• Proven managerial experience in personnel matters such as documentation, reports, disciplinary reports, etc.
• Possesses a developed ability to implement and maintain standardized operational procedures related to inventory control and warehousing activities.
• Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss all operational aspects of the facility with miscellaneous internal and client contacts.
• Possess Forklift certification.
• Possess excellent problem solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a team player.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to operate within a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
