Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Manager of Ontology and Data Modeling to develop enterprise ontologies in support of the Data Strategy and ERP replacement initiatives.

You will partner with Finance, Technology, Product, and other teams to standardize data, champion semantic technology, and deliver reusable, scalable data models.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and deep experience in metadata, ontologies, and data modeling across complex enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field and several years in ontology/semantics.
• Experience with W3C standards (RDF, OWL, SKOS) and linked data tools.
• Experience using SQL or SPARQL and ontology tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define statements to deliver results using ontologies and data models.
• Influence priorities via customer insights and roadmaps.
• Own and prioritize the ontology and data modeling roadmap.
• Collaborate with Technology and ML teams to integrate semantics.
• Develop reusable, extensible data capabilities.
• Lead and mentor ontology and data modeling associates.
